First Impression of Lily Jade Caroline Bag

I have not stopped smiling since my bag arrived. I feel so funny saying that but once your a mom and you basically carry your diaper bag around as a purse you will understand. I believe it's important that it's functional but also that you feel good carrying it!

I did a lot of research when looking for a diaper bag when I was pregnant with Ellie. I was highly impressed with my Freshly Picked black diaper bag. It was extremely functional and it looked cute also. It has held up fairly well over the last 2 years but with baby #2 on the way I wanted to treat myself to something new.

When I came across this Lily Jade Caroline bag on Instagram, I could not get it out of my head. I HAD TO HAVE IT. My husband of course thinks I'm insane but until it's the only thing you carry around with you, you don't appreciate the art of a fine bag. I started looking on Instagram for hashtags of Lily Jade just to see this particular bag being used.

Now I will say this is not a cheap bag, but I firmly believe you get what you pay for. I have a grey diaper bag that was more "manly" for Anthony to carry because he said he wasn't carrying the girlie one. Needless to say that one sits in a closet because the zipper is funky and sometimes it busts open. It doesn't have as many functional pockets and it still cost about $50. We have strictly used it as a backup if I needed to wash the Freshly Picked one or to keep in the car with extra clothes, diapers, and wipes for emergencies. It's not something I think is functional for everyday.

The top 3 diaper bags I came across were Lily Jade, Freshly Picked and the Fawn bag. They are all in the same price range. I personally didn't love the Fawn bag. I think it's extremely small and not functional. So I personally would choose between the Freshly Picked bag or the Lily Jade bag.

Regardless, you should pick a bag that is a backpack. You need your hands free to carry an infant car seat or chase a toddler. I will say I like that the Lily Jade bag also has a shoulder strap because sometimes I think it's easier to grab it by that instead of taking the time to put it on as a backpack. Especially in the rain or snow and you just want to get in the car as fast as possible.

I bought a super cute/ cheap shoulder strap to add to my new Lily Jade Caroline bag. I think it just makes it a little more personalized and you can add whatever strap you like, or it comes with one that matches the bag. It has 2 large side pockets for water bottles or sippy cups. There's also an insulated pocket on the inside that you can use for bottles or whatever you want to keep cold. The inside is slightly larger than the Freshly Picked bag, but they are pretty close in size.

Needless to say you can't go wrong with either bag. I'll link all three bags on my LikeToKnow. It page here or click on the picture below to shop!
